Clan Citadel
The Introduction of the Clan Citadel could be the start of Elixir (or whatever our servers name is going to be ), providing more content specifically for PvP clans, which include warring clans, specialising in the PvP element of the game. The focus of many PvP clans is inside the Wilderness - however this does not exclude other forms of PvP such as the Clan Wars Arena. The Clan Citadels can offer a private area for PvP clans; where they can recruit members, have clan meetings, parties, and even battle other clans.
This idea came to me while I was looking at an old RS Clan Citadel trailer posted on YouTube on RS's official YouTube channel.
If you think that I am suggesting the Clan Citadels like you know it on Runescape, to be implemented here on Elixir, then you've come to the wrong suggestion thread. (That's for the future .). Nah jk, but seriously though. I am suggesting the Clan Citadels to be implemented, but not the whole thing. The Clan Citadels that I am suggesting is focused on the Player-versus-Player element of the game. The Citadel itself will be the homeplace for every PvP clan that opens on our server.
With this update, Elixir will bring in more clans to the server (like it's been doing), and hopefully a huge player base along with it.
Pros with the Citadel:
[*]The Citadel could also offer a quick teleportation option to Clan Wars, so clans can have clan battles there. I think it's a better option than going to home, and then through the yellow portal. Also, before the clan go to battle, they can organize and quickly relay a strategy to the membership, before they go to battle.[/*]
[/ul]
So let's move on with the suggestion. The Citadel part is actually supposed to be at the end of my suggestion, but I just couldn't let it stay on the bottom of the thread, as it is the main focus in this suggestion. (Hence why it's also in the title of this thread).
Moving on; Clan Chats
We all know what the Clan Chat is, but for those of you who don't already know:
Clan Chats are the official clan channels for clans registered with the Scribe at the Clan Camp. You can only be in one clan at a time and must be invited by someone with appropriate permissions before you get any rank in the channel. As a member of an official clan you will automatically join this channel on login, but you can choose to remain hidden from your clan if you wish. Clan Chats support up to 500 members, whereas Friends chats can only have 100 members in the clan at the same time. If a Friends chat reaches it's player limit (100), the player(s) who tries to join the chat will be told "The chat is currently full", and will have to wait until someone leaves the chat to rejoin.
You could call that the "Introduction" to my suggestion. Moving onto "How to start a clan chat".
Starting a Clan Chat
To start a clan chat, you must first start a clan*. You can do this by obtaining a clan charter from the Scribe in the Clan Camp and founding a clan with four other "founders". These can be anyone - friends or strangers. Once you've got yourself four founders (excluding yourself) hand the charter back to the Scribe.
After you've handed in your clan charter, you may choose the design for your clan cloak and vexilium. Every member of your clan may have one of these.
*Starting a Clan
To start a clan you will have to talk to the Scribe. He will give you a scroll which you need to use on other people to invite them to your clan. You need to have at least four other people to start your clan by going back to him and telling him you have a full list. You can then enter your clan name, and your clan is created.
Clan Vexillum
To be able to create a Clan Citadel, you first need to obtain the clan vexillum by talking to the Scribe at the Clan Camp south of Falador. He will give you a clan vexillum upon request, and will also replace the vexillum if lost.
The vexillum has two right-click options: The "Teleport" option will teleport you to the Clan Camp, and the "Place" option will put a vexillum in the ground - other players may then read it to learn more about your clan. There are also many Vexillum stands at the Clan Camp where clans can place their clan vexillum for everyone to read, especially players who are looking for clans to join.
Clan Cloak
The clan cloak is a cloak players can equip to show their clan allegiance, and is the wearable counterpart to the clan vexillum. To obtain one, you have to speak to the Captain of the Guard in the Clan Camp while being a member in a clan. If you lose your cloak, you can go back to him and he will replace your lost cloak with a new one. (The design of the old one will remain on your new cloak).
The features the cloak has, is that it can be customised like a Completionist cape by the clan leader or admins/deputy owner. Four colours can be customised: The main cape colour, the cape's trim/inside colour, and one colour for each of the two logos.
Clan Noticeboard
The Clan Noticeboard is located within the Clan Camp, just south of the clan meeting tent. It is used to display information about a clan's upcoming events.
Clan members will get an interface which shows the clan's symbol, colours and motto as well as the clan time as set in clan settings as well as the game time and the events set by the clan admins.
The Clan Noticeboard outside the Clan Citadel, could be the Official Server Event Noticeboard. Every big server event could be put on the noticeboard by the events host.
I will create a forums section for Events on the forums, and it can be used to host events on the forums, while the Noticeboard at the Clan Camp can be used to host events in the game. All you need to do is add the forum "Thread ID" to the Ingame Noticeboard so players can refer to the events thread posted on the forums. (This could be a way to promote the forums).
Clan Settings
This is where you will set the major settings for your clan. You can alter the following options:
General settings:
- Set clan time zone - Allows clans to set an official timezone for their clan.
- Set clan Home World - (This isn't that important on Alotic since we only have 1 world, but we might get 2 more in the future, who knows)
- Set clan to "Clan Time" - By checking this box, all clan events will be run based on the clan's set timezone.
Advertise Clan Recruitment - Allows clans to choose whether their clan is recruiting new members or not.
- Add Official Clan forum Thread ID - Allows clans to post a link to their official thread in their clan forum. (Thread ID is explained above)
You can input your clan's Thread ID, so whoever would be interested can find your forum thread.
For Mayhem, the Thread ID would be: index.php?/topic/7318-mayhem-simply-the-best/
You just go on forum.alotic.com and put: index.php?/topic/7318-mayhem-simply-the-best/ and press enter to get to their clan recruitment page. Which is here: forum.alotic.com/alotic/index.php?/topic/7318-mayhem-simply-the-best/
(Example I used since we don't have a forums atm).
Clan Motto
This interface allows you to enter a small message that advertises your clan. Your message can be anywhere from 1 to 80 characters long. Be sure to make it descriptive, so possible applicants know what they will get themselves into. This motto will be shown on you Vexillum, so think it through!
Again, using Mayhem as an example since they are a very good clan: Their clan motto could look something like this:
Mayhem is a well established clan known for our quality and consistency. We've moved servers multiple times due to us beating clans so badly that they are forced to move servers to escape us. This means that we are always the last to leave since we don't go until the job is done. **"Join Mayhem today!"**
**If they were recruiting, they could add something like that.**
Clan MotifAnother feature that you can use to distinguish your clan from other clans is the motif. With the ability to choose two of 110 logos. These logos range from a dragon, to a party hat and from the crafting skill icon to a dwarf. You also get the opportunity to change the colour of each logo, your primary and your secondary clan colour. Given these possibilities, it's highly unlikely many clans will have the same motif.
Like your motto, the motif also appears on your Vexillum. Your clan cape will also have these colours and symbols.
Clan Keywords
You not only have your motto to let players know what your clan is about, you can also describe your clan in 10 keywords. However, these keywords must be chosen from a list of presets, presented to you in categories. These keywords will also appear on your Vexillum.
Clan Ranks
- Leads the clan in Rated Clan Wars. -
General
- Can be given kicking permissions by clan owner. -
Captain
- Can be given kicking permissions by clan owner. -
Lieutenant
- Can be given kicking permissions by clan owner. -
Sergeant
- Can be given kicking permissions by clan owner. -
Corporal
- Can be given kicking permissions by clan owner. -
Recruit
- The default rank for any clan chat member. They have no permissions. -
N/A Guest
- Someone who is visiting your clan chat as a guest. They have no permissions. -</div>
Moving back to the Citadel again.
Creating a Citadel
To create a Citadel you need to be a clan leader, and bring four members of your clan to the Clan Camp. Talk to Avalani to learn how to access your clan citadel. She will tell you all you need to know to be able to create and access your citadel.
(It should require membership to create citadels in my opinion, as it did on Runescape.) Creating and accessing the Citadel should require membership, but creating a clan/clan chat should not. Since you need 5 members to create a clan and a clan citadel, all the clan members needs to be donators/members as well for it to work. (That way, there wouldn't be hundreds of clans created the first couple of days/weeks this was implemented).
The Clan Citadel on Runescape is way different than the one I am suggesting to be created on Elixir. The difference on RS is that Clan Citadels can be customized as you wish, and it can be used for skilling and training combat skills and much much more. The Clan Citadel we want on Elixir shouldn't need all of that, because it's going to be too much work for the developers on here, and it's not neccessary either. What we want is a small Citadel, where we can create and organize our clans, recruit members, have clan meetings, maybe even parties or go to battle against other clans. (Not on the Citadel though).
The Citadel could house:
A clan meeting place that works like a clan forums, but is instead in a private area in the game.
A clan owned noticeboard similar to the one at the Clan Camp, but is instead for the one specific clan. (The one at the Clan Camp could be the Official Server Noticeboard made to announce Server Events etcs.) The clan noticeboard is used to display information about a clan's upcoming events.
The types of events could be:
- Minigames & Distraction / Diversions
- PvP
- Clan meeting
- Clan Party
- Quests
- Tasks
That's all of it I guess. If I forgot anything I will edit the thread and add it here, but this will do for now.
Thank you for reading my suggestion. I've been working very hard on this, so I expect you to give me constructive feedback if you don't like the suggestion.... but if you did, you've made me very happy . As always, feel free to post your comments/feedback below and have yourself a great day forward. Thank you so much for reading my suggestion, cya on the forums .
Tl;dr:
What are you suggesting?: Clan Citadels
Who will this benefit?: Clans, everyone actually. If more clans come to our server, more players will too, so this will benefit everyone. The Citadels is something unique that NO SERVER out there has, and if we managed to get it on our server (NOT THE FULL VERSION LIKE ON RUNESCAPE), our server would be unique and stand out from other servers.
Any cons?: I have no idea to be honest, but let's find out, shall we?

A suggestion that will make clans very happy, as they now (if it gets implemented), have a clan citadel where they can create their clans, recruit members, have clan meetings, host events, have clan parties, go to battle against other clans etc. The Citadel requires membership to create and access, because the citadel will have two great features (for now, if you have any suggestions on more features it could have, post it below):
1) Quick teleportation/transportation way to active PKing locations in the wilderness such as; Mage Bank, Easts & Wests, Greater Demons, Dark Knights' Fortress, Bandit Camp and many more.
2) Quick teleportation/transportation way to Clan Wars, to battle against other clans in a safe player-versus-player arena.
Ohh shit, I forgot to mention the Avalani outfit and the NPC that also grants players access to the Citadel itself.... Damnnnn.
